Motorola MH230R 23-Mile Range 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio (Pair)

These are great! These replaced a pair of brand new, cost more, pair of Uniden walkie talkies. The batteries on these Motorala MH230R radios last us for almost 3 days before they have to go back in the charger(they are on around the clock). Please take into consideration this: We turn them on in the mornings, talk maybe 3-4 times a day on them and do not turn them off until we put them back in the charger.The Unidens wouldn't even last 12 hours.

I purchased this pair of two-way radio for my trip to Mammoth Lakes. I used one radio and my friend used the other one while we drove on separate cars. Both radios worked well. Along the freeway, we were able to communicate clearly. In Mammoth Lakes, we tested the radios again. My friend waited at the Red Meadows Resort while I was hiking to the Rainbow Falls. The distance was approximately 1.5 to 2 miles between the two locations. Again, we were able to communicate clearly. We certainly like these radios! About the batteries, when I first got them, I charged the batteries for about 18-20 hours. On our first use, they lasted about 12 hours. What else to expect......these are great and reliable products.....so far!
